Skill-O-Vation 2025 a talent contest for the mothers of pre Primary (Nursery to Ukg) was held in the premises of S.D.S.M. School For Excellence on 6th September 2025. Like every year this year to a large number of enthusiastic mothers participated and showcased their talent and creativity in events like Handmade Card making, Fruits & Vegetable carving, Handkerchief embroidery, Glass bottle decoration and Wall hanging. The events were adjudged by a panel of esteemed judges who are experts in their fields and are homemakers too of Jamshedpur.
In the valedictory Function Principal, Mrs Moushumi Das addressed the gathering by acknowledging the efforts of the mothers and teachers that paved the way for the children to move ahead with same confidence and morale. Such events should be a positive spirit of participation rather than competition.
Participatory certificates were given to all participating mothers. The whole Programme was successfully conducted with great enthusiasm.

On 2nd September, the Swachhata Shapath Day was observed. The oath was administered by our Principal Ma’am, where Vice Principal Ma’am, coordinators, teachers and children diligently promised to remain committed towards cleanliness.
On 3rd September, Swachhata Awareness Day was observed in which students of Std. IX & X delivered awareness speeches on Swachhata
On 4th September, Community Outreach Day was conducted with a rally in nearby areas to undertake cleanliness and spread awareness among the community
On 6th September, Swachhata Participation Day was celebrated. An essay writing competition was organised for Std. IX students. On the same day, painting and slogan competitions were conducted for teachers.
On 8th September, Hand Wash Day was observed. Std. V students participated in an awareness session on the need for proper hand washing. On the same day, parents also participated in a painting and slogan competition.
On 9th September, Personal Hygiene Day was organised. A painting competition was held for Std. VI students, focusing on health and hygiene.
On 10th September, Swachhata Skit Day was celebrated with a Nukkad Natak performed by Drama and Hobby students.

BLAZE 2025 : SDSM SCHOOL FOR EXCELLENCE CELEBRATES
A DECADE WITH BLAZE – AN INTER SCHOOL EVENT Date : 23/08/2025
The mega Inter School Event ‘BLAZE’ was organized on the theme Sustainable Environment at S.D.S.M. School for Excellence on Saturday, August 23, 2025. 30 schools of the city sent about 800 students as participants.
Principal, Mrs Moushumi Das inaugurated the function by lighting the ceremonial lamp. Principal, Mrs. Moushumi Das addressed and said that participation is an important spirit than winning or losing. It is not a competition but recognition of intermingling of systems and emotions, learning never stops.
Preserving the journey of the past 10 years and a treasure of memories, a souvenir was released by Principal and other dignitaries. The students participated enthusiastically making the programme a grand success. Ex Chief Guests and Ex Judges of Blaze since 2016 to 2024 were felicitated by Principal, Mrs Moushumi Das
Overall Champions Trophy was bagged by Vidya Bharati Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Telco
Runner Up position was secured by Vivek Vidyalaya, Govindpur.
Schools participated in all events – Little Flower School and SDSM School for Excellence.
Continuous association since 2016 AIWC Academy of Excellence, Baridih High School, Tarapore School, Agrico. The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks followed by National Anthem.

. MATHEMATICS DAY 2024 .


Today, on 23rd December 2024, Monday S.D.S.M. School for Excellence celebrated the 138th birth anniversary of the legendary mathematician, Srinivasa Ramanujan Iyengar. The Mathematics Department organized various activities to mark the occasion. The program commenced with the Principal Mrs. Moushumi Das, Vice Principal and subject coordinators paying floral tributes to the statue of Srinivasa Ramanujan. They also lit the ceremonial lamp and symbolized growth and progress by watering the plants. During the morning assembly, students showcased the different aspects of mathematics through a dance performance. The importance of mathematics was highlighted through speeches, quizzes, poetry recitation, and skits. The event was graced by the presence of all the teachers and students.

AWARENESS ON NO DRUG OR ANTI TOBACCO ( 23.06.2025 )
To raise awareness about the harmful effect of substance abuse and to promote a healthier, drug free society a special programme titled “Nasha Mukti Jagurukta Abhiyaan” was organized at S.D.S.M. School for Excellence by the District Administration.
The event commenced with a warm welcome by Principal, Moushumi Das, she expressed heartfelt appreciation for the presence of esteemed guests. The Chief Guest present were – City SP, Shri Kumar Shivashish, City DSP CCR, Shri Manoj Thakur, City Inspect, Shri Nityanand Prasad, Lady Sub Inspector, Manju Konkal, Sidhgora Station Incharge, Shri Gulam Rabbani. The members of NGO, Meraki Trust, Ms Reeta Patro and Shri Jitendra Tiwari.

The programme was attended by 400 students’ approx and teachers. Each of the guests, addressed the gathering, delivering insightful and motivational speech.City SP, Shri Kumar Shivashish, he advised the students to make themselves busy and pursue a hobby. He emphasized that country is nothing but its people and the end is tragic for all these bad habits so one should free themselves from the grip of addiction.
Chairman, Shri Diwakar Singh highlighted the substance abuse is increasingly affecting children as young as 14-21 years old, making with crucial to intervene early and spread awareness among teenagers.City DSP CCR, Shri Manoj Thakur, he asked the students to be role model for the others and motivate others to break free from the bad habits.Officer Incharge, Sidhgora PS, Mr Gulam Rabbani focused on how children are the future of the country and how substance abuse deep affects both mind and body, leading to long term deterioration. He urged students to stay away from bad influences.City Inspector, Shri Nityanand Prasad, he urged the students to be disciplined, to create an identity of their own, to understand their goals and responsibilities towards the society.Lady Sub Inspector, Ms Manju Konkal spoke about the damaging effects of drugs, explaining how they diminish a person’s physical and mental capabilities.
Principal, Moushumi Das delivered a heartfelt Vote of thanks appreciating the guidance, time and motivation provided by the guests.The programme concluded with an interactive session conducted by the resource person from Meraki Trust, during which they patiently addressed students concern.

ANNUAL BLOOD DONATION CAMP 2025
To commemorate the 27th Death anniversary of the founder Chairman and renowned Social Worker Late S.D. Singh, S.D.S.M School for Excellence organised the Annual Blood Donation Camp on Wednesday, 25th June 2025 from 9:00 a.m to 4.00 pm in the school premises.
The program commenced with the garlanding and floral tribute at the statue of the respected social reformer and educationist Late S. D. Singh. This was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp followed by Vedic chants, jointly performed by the School Chairman Mr. Diwakar Singh, Principal, Mrs. Mousumi Das, Dr. L.B Singh and Mr. D. K. Ghosh, Sr. Member from Jamshedpur Blood Bank. On this occasion, the event was graced by the presence of several dignitaries including Mr. Prabhakar Singh, Chancellor of Sona Devi University,

ANNUAL PRIZE NIGHT ( 02.08.2025)
S D.S.M. School FOR EXCELLENCE, Jamshedpur celebrated its much-awaited Annual Prize Night 2024 - 2025 with grandeur and joy, honouring student excellence and achievements across academic and co-curricular spheres. The evening was marked by enthusiasm, pride, and celebration as students, teachers, and parents gathered to reflect on a year of excellent performance.
The event began with the ceremonial Lighting of the Lamp by Mr. Sourav Roy, Chief Executive Officer, TSF & Chief CSR, Tata Steel, Jamshedpur, Chairman,
SMC, Mr. Diwakar Singh, Principal, Mrs. Moushumi Das and School Manager,
Dr. Nirmala Shukla followed by soulful prayer and welcome dance.
Principal Mrs. Moushumi Das presented the annual school report, detailing the institution’s continued commitment to academic excellence and holistic development of the students. She expressed heartfelt gratitude to the School Management, teachers and students for the continuous support and development.
The achievers for the evening were awarded by the Chief Guest, Mr. Sourav Roy, under various categories (perseverance, all-rounder and academics). The students were awarded with trophies and certificates.
A total of 368 units of blood were collected. The camp was successfully conducted under the banner of S.D. Singh Memorial Educational Foundation (Trust) under the guidance and supervision of School Chairman, Mr. Diwakar Singh.
On this occasion, Mr. Diwakar Singh extended special gratitude and heartfelt thanks to Mr. Vijay Kumar Singh, Secretary of the Red Cross Society and General Manager, Mr. Sanjay Chaudhary from Jamshedpur Blood Bank.
The Chief Guest addressed the gathering congratulating the students, parents and school management and stated that everyone has given their best efforts for the education of the students. He further said that the purpose of the education is to inspire students to strive for excellence, not merely to chase success. SDSM School for Excellence is doing exactly the same.
The recipients of the Excellence awards were as follows:

5. K. D. Tewary Memorial Trophy – OM PRAKASH PANDA, in the Junior level
The programme concluded with a Vote of thanks, School song followed by the National Anthem.

‘Kala Indradhanush’ (08.02.2025)
‘Kala Indradhanush’ an event exhibiting the innate talent of the students was organized on 8th February 2025. The event embellished with the showcase of various hobby presentation by the students throughout the day.
Principal, Mrs. Moushumi Das inaugurated the programme and lit the ceremonial lamp with the school leadership team. 21 hobby club students exhibited their talent in Taekwondo, Volleyball, Football, Chess, Eco & Science Club,, Drawing & Painting, Reader’s Club etc. The Dance Drama with Music group presented ‘Krishna Ka Baal Leela’. The proud parents of the participating students enjoyed the programme. The event concluded with the school song.

GRADUATION CEREMONY OF XII: 01/02/2025

S.D.S.M. School for Excellence organized the Graduation Ceremony of XII standard for the batch 2024-25 on Saturday, 1 February 2025. The campus of the school echoed with blessings on this occasion, when the SDSM Family came together. It was an evening of mixed sentiments to witness the official sends off for the students in the Valedictory Ceremony.
The programme began with lighting of the lamp by the Principal, Mrs. Moushumi Das, School Manager, Dr Nirmala Shukla and Guests Professor & Head of PG Dept. of Education, Jamshedpur Women’s University, Mr Sanjay Bhuiyam, Social Worker, Mrs. Kamla Venkat graced the occasion and felicitated the students. Shubham Dutta, SPL gave the valedictory speech. Graduating students expressed their emotions. 198 students were honoured with the mementos and certificates. 5 Special awards were conferred to the students those who have shown their meritorious academic performance as well as active participation in their activities. Principal’s Awards were given to Shubham Dutta and Riddhi Kumari of Class XII for their outstanding performance and exemplary behaviour.
Principal, Mrs. Moushumi Das addressed the students of being ‘GREAT’ where G stands for gratitude, R for respect, E for empathy, A for attitude and T for true teacher. She highlighted attitude of gratitude and emphasizing on being passionate in any work we do. The guests motivated the students by stressing that everyone is a leader and to love and respect the work. They wished the graduating students to work hard, be human centric, social and responsible citizens and wished them success for their future endeavor. The programme ended with lighting of the candles by the graduating students followed by the school song.
27th ANNUAL SPORTS DAY OF
S.D.S.M. SCHOOL FOR EXCELLENCE : 31.01.2025

S.D.S.M. School for Excellence celebrated its 27 th Annual Sports Day at Sumant Moolgaokar Stadium, Telco.
Students from the school enthusiastically participated in the Sports day event. The participants were really excited about the event. The event started with the march-past by the Six families, the school flag was unfurled and the meet was declared open by the Chairman, SDSM School for Excellence, Mr. Diwakar Singh by lighting of the flame and releasing of mascot, accompanied by Principal, Mrs. Moushumi Das to mark the expression of joy and renouncement.
At the end of the Annual Sports Day Principal, Mrs. Moushumi Das gave away the trophies in the categories – Best Athlete Award, Best March-past Family, Runner Up Family and Winner Family. Principal, Moushumi Das declared the 27 th Annual Sports
Day closed.

BAL VATIKA DAY 2024
The objective of the programme was to provide a platform to the tiny tots to display their latent talents. Over 908 students participated from Nursery to Std.II (Foundational Block) with great zeal and enthusiasm. The programme began with a prayer song. The tiny tots stole the hearts of the audience by their scintillating performances. The students showcased their talent through Musical act, Mime act Retro to Metro, Ramp Walk, Rock n Roll, Pre School children have taken an initiative to depict a play on Krishna & Sudama to convey the value of friendship, love and compassion and finding joy in every moment of life. The play ‘We can Change the World’ where the students showcased us that even the smallest actions can create a big impact and how we can all contribute to a better world. Madam, Principal thanked all the parents for their cooperation and support. The evening was a concoction of music, drama and dance.

SIKSHA SAPTAH : 22-07-24 TO 27-07-2024


S.D.S.M. SCHOOL FOR EXCELLENCE celebrated SHIKSHA SAPTAH under the Ministry of Education from 22nd July to 28th July 2024 commemorating the 4th Anniversary of NEP 2020. Cultural programs were organised to promote India’s Cultural Diversity.
On the first day, 22nd July 2024, TLM DAY was celebrated. Different activities were conducted for different levels- for the foundational level – Story Telling, Exhibition, Thumb Painting and Folklore were organised. In the preparatory level, workshops were organised for chart marking, colour boxes, mask and card making. For middle and secondary level, workshop on Toy and Puppets were organised along with the Poster, slogans and wall charts for secondary level.
FLN DAY was celebrated on the second day 23rd July,2024. NIPUN Pledge was taken by all the students and teachers. Parents were invited for the screening of FLN Film to understand the objectives and generate awareness among the mass and its importance.
On the third day 24th July,2024, Sports Day was organised in which PET teacher explained about the indigenous games and its importance. Competition of outdoor games were conducted.
The fourth day, 25th July,2024 was Cultural Day that focused on the promotion and celebration of India’s cultural diversity. Folk dance and folk songs of India were presented by the students, teachers and parents.
Skilling Day was celebrated on 26th July,2024 in which the children were taken out for field activity to Park and Dairy farms. Coding challenge, first aid and bag making workshops were organised too.
The sixth and seventh day, 27th July,2024 were Eco-Club and Community Involvement Day in which students and mothers participated in the plantation drive. Display of Placards was done through Rally and Vidyanjali logo making and awareness program was conducted.
The SHIKSHA SAPTAH finally concluded with the Plantation Drive by Eco Club students and teachers.
